To Serve(r) Man

Hey everyone -- just a quick note to let you know that the files aren't gone for good or anything, there's just some behind-the-scenes server craziness that's been going on. A-Number 1 Superfine Scott, the astoundingly gracious fellow who actually HOSTS the files has, in point of fact, been all over it, and there will probably be a full return to form within a week at the very outset. Sorry for the holdup, but we oughtta be back in business soon.

  2. I just got introduced to this site by a friend...it's like some dark dusty chest of gold...I actually remember getting some of these records out at the library when I was a kid. I can't wait until the server's up and running again. Thanks for all the hard work!

  5. Just deleted some weirdo in-fighting stuff from the comments -- sorry guys, feel free to fight elsewhere & everything but it all seemed kind of besides the point for what I'm trying to do with the blog.

Oh, and I SHOULD be getting files up & everything soon; I've just been super-swamped w/ other stuff & my home computer wasn't recognizing external drives, etc etc -- buncha random crap all at once basically. Hang in there & sometime soon it oughtta get resolved. Heh, I hope.

  6. Glad you got it worked out Jason. I guess we all have that random crap hit us now and then. Good luck.

Just wrote on my "music/MP3" blog about the Nip Drivers and mentioned you. Then I did a search for any current link, and found out that Mike Webber may have died in the past few days.

  10. Ooo! Don't go away forever, I'm addicted. I was lucky enough to find your site the week of Halloween this year, and it made my Holiday more than anything else could have! I was working a lot (alone) and couldn't make time for movies and such, but I could have you downloads on while I worked. Fantastic stuff!
    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Heya Jason, still checking in on those downloads. Any chance they might be back up and running soon?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I do hope you aren't gone forever, man. Great blog! (It's always Halloween around our house.)

  13. I doubt he's gone forever... we've emailed back and forth a few times, I'm just waiting for him to send me some info I need and his space will be good to go again. I have no idea what files he'll have online, but the site isn't going away forever as far as I know.

  20. I really hope you can get this file download problem worked out, because I was THRILLED to see so many things I've never heard before or for a very long time (like the Scholastic HAUNTED HOUSE recording)....but every download link I tried would NOT work. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hey, when are those old Halloween recordings going to be available for download again?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jason, man... I sure hope you are just taking an extended leave. This site was wonderful, Halloween was made wonderful this year thanks to the great shares. Thanks for everything & again, I do hope you're okay out there & just taking a break-- my prayers to you, friend, if not.

    Thanks again,

  23. UPDATE? ARE YOU OK? WILL THE SITE BE BACK? IT HAS BEEN MONTHS! YOU ARE SCARING US!

    ReplyDelete
  24. nobody needs to worry here, I see jason often enough that I know he's fine, just also busy with a bunch of other projects. He'd also mentioned to me that the idea of re-uploading all the old files seemed daunting and time consuming, so maybe he's just working himself up to it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hey everyone! Yeah, "anonymous" has indeed hit it on the head here -- sorry for the prolonged absence but I really WILL be cruising back soon. And of course until then if anyone wants to upload the files folks are looking for (if they notice requests for them, etc) on their own sites, or on a rapidshare/ megaupload/ whatever link they are more than welcome to do so w/ my compliments.

    ReplyDelete
  26. oh, and happy new year!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Good to see you still kickin' around.

I have a bunch of your older posts, so if you need another hand or anything, would be more than glad to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The really strange thing is how cozy horror/halloween recordings are. Full of creepy sounds and screaming and ghoulish narrators gloating over ghastliness. But listening to it relaxes me in an odd way that just plain old music doesn't! Similar to reading ghost stories...nothing makes one more comfy!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Retro_n_Groovy, I'd love to start uploading some of the older posts - so whenever you get them onto rapidshare or megaupload please let us know! I appreciate the offer!!!!

  30. If anyone has the Power records set (Marvel Comics' MONSTER SERIES) I'd love to grab those.

    - MAN-THING
    - Tomb of DRACULA
    - FRANKENSTEIN
    - WEREWOLF by Night

I didn't get them during the Halloween season and figured I'd get them later, but the sites been down since then.

    ;-(

I'll check the comments here every now and again.

I REALLY want to snag those.

  32. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I ended up finding all of the MONSTER (Marvel Book and Records) elsewhere.
(The internet is a wonderful thing!)

Man-Thing, Werewolf & Dracula were found here:

    http://blog.wfmu.org/

    Frankenstein was found here:

    http://powerrecordsplaza.blogspot.com/

    ThanX anyway!

However, as soon as the server is back up and running here, I'll be looking to snag a few other things that I did miss.

  36. Has your blog died, or will these files be made available again? Really looking forward to getting those Count Chocula records. :-(
I would suggest possibly using MegaUpload (which I use on my blog), or some other such service to make these available again if the server here will forever cause problems. PLEASE let us know what's going on here? Thanks again. :-)

  37. Anyone home? We miss you!

    :(

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hey there...really looking forward to when the links are working again.

Was doing some work from home last night and for whatever reason, I thought of an old record that I took out of the library when I was a kid and loved. I even taped it but the tape broke long ago and every now and then I think about how much I would love to hear it again. The only thing I remembered about the title was that 'Ghost Stories' was in the name. After a couple of searches I narrowed down the title, found my way to your site and I was floored when I finally came across it...Wade Denning "Famous Ghost Stories With Scary Sounds". I remembered the cover of the record as soon as I saw it...but the link didn't work :( Here's to hoping that everything is up and running soon as I am DYING to hear this again...I loved this record. The readings and sound effects were so well done. Do you have a scan of the back cover as well?

Can't wait to download this...and a bunch of other files now that I've found your blog. I love this type of stuff.

    Waiting patiently :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm working on uploading a bunch of Scar Stuff shares.

Two options really. I could post them on my site as sort of a mini Scar Stuff project on your behalf, or I could e-mail the links to you to refill.

Any thoughts Jason? I don't have *everything*, but I can get a bunch up.

  40. GK,
I just posted the Wade Denning LP on my blog for you here:

  41. And please upload Dean Gitter's "Ghost Ballads" and Mort Garson's "Lucifer/Black Mass" with the liner-notes. I would love to read those. I hope your blog do return fully in a near future, it rocks!

  42. Bjornee - I just posted Dean Gitter's LP, but I never did get the other one you mentioned. Perhaps someone else can post it for you.
    Dave

  43. I have Lucifer's Black Mass, but I can't seem to find the liner notes. I swear I have them somewhere. I'll keep a look out for them.

In the meantime, I've been uploading Old Scar stuff files as I've come across them, and they are all in one post on my site. So if you see something you missed in the past, go for it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. dave: Thanks, I got the Ghost ballads from your blog - great stuff.

Retro_N_Groovy: I do have the recording Lucifer/Black Mass so I just need the liner notes. I hope you find them someday :)

  48. Thanks again for everyone's help since the absence of Scar Stuff. I'm looking for Louise Huebner's "Seduction Through Witchcraft". Anyone willing to upload that one? Thanks!

  52. Does anyone have a copy of the "Wife Swapping Swinger's Orgy Porgy Party" file? I've looked around, but this seems to be the only place for the original - all I could find was a remix done by someone else with the original file.

    ReplyDelete
  53. That's a good idea, Harvey. I'm in.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Dave,

Would you happen to have the "Old Witch Rescues Halloween" audio file? I 'm hoping to get it - its a great memory from my childhood! Thanks!

I've been trying to track down a copy of it for years...

  74. Hey I really like your blog a lot. I have had it bookmarked for quite awhile, and just recently decided to set up one of my own in a similar idea of posting reviews and suggestions about random non-mainstream music. I'd love to have you post some suggestions or comments if you ever have a chance to take a look...there isn't much yet but I hope to change that soon.

    its at www.defectivetapemachine.blogspot.com.

Thanks! and keep up the awesome work!

  75. Hi,

I found this site last year and loe it. I downloded a few things but they were erased. Is there anyone who has all of Jason's shares somewhere I can get them?

Incedentily, I'm on the look out for an old tape /I had when I was a kid.
I found CD copies of it but they're expensive and my library won't give me their only copy.
the title is "Spooky Tales and Scary Sounds." It's similar in content to Night in a Haunted House/Night in a Graveyard," but is very cool nevertheless. If anyone can find this please post it and let me know. my e-mail is jppearson2010@hotmail.com

  78. Halloween is always so much fun, especially the Halloween Parties. Every year I throw a gigantic Halloween party and invite lots of people. To make it even more fun, I ask my guests to come dressed in a scary Halloween costume.

I found three websites that have really unique, exclusive and truly Halloween party invitations cards,

    http://www.cardsshoppe.com/productlist.asp?catid=37
    http://www.holiday-invitations.com/Halloween-Invitations-Cards/browse-24.htm
    http://www.invitations-shoppe.com/products_List.asp?intCatID=1&catname=Halloween-Cards

These sites have lots of Halloween wording ideas to help me get my Halloween invitations just right. And, they all print and print the same day. That's why I tell all my friends and family about them. Try these sites, you will love them - I guarantee it.
